Parag Sharma is the Chief Operating Officer at ReNew Power. With an experience spanning almost two decades, Parag joined ReNew Power from KPMG, where he was the Director of the Transaction Services division and was leading the power sector team. Prior to that, Parag was Head of Energy Practice of ICRA’s consulting arm. He has been a part of the commissioning team of India’s first IPP- GVK, Jegurupadu and has extensive experience in erection & commissioning.
As part of the senior leadership team at ReNew Power, Parag’s role as Chief Operating Officer involves leading the offtake and regulatory function. He is also actively involved with the development of the solar team and building the solar portfolio of ReNew.Parag is an Electrical Engineer from Aligarh Muslim University, an MBA from IIT Delhi and LLB from Delhi University.
Mr. K.V.S. Baba is currently working as Chief Executive Officer in Power System Operation Corporation Ltd.
He has worked in the areas of Power system Planning, system Operation, Corporate Planning and execution/management of Distribution projects in POWERGRID and POSOCO under various capacities.
His areas of interest include System Reliability, Open Access, Regulatory affairs besides integration of Renewable Energy.
He currently represents India on the CIGRE Study Committee C2 on Power System Operation.
Ms. Backer is a Senior Specialist, Alliance and Innovation Management at Vestas. She has an overall experience of 33 years in the various streams such as sustainable business development, general management, sustainable energy, entrepreneurship, corporate social responsibility.
She has a PHD in Sustainable Business Development from Copenhagen Business School and her M.Sc. in engineering, Energy and environment from Technical University of Denmark.
Mr. Mathur is an Indian Administrative Service Officer of the 1986 batch. A first Class Graduate in Economics and an MBA in Finance, he has had long stints in various positions in the Finance Department including African Development Bank.
Prior to his appointment as Additional Secretary, NITI Aayog, he was Chairman and Managing Director of Exim Bank, Mumbai.
Mr. Mathur has interests in entrepreneurship development, infrastructure financing, regulatory issues and behavioral sciences.
A career civil servant with over 37 years of experience, both at the national and state level, Shri Gireesh B Pradhan was born in Mumbai on 20th December, 1952. He did his schooling from St. Xavier’s School, Jaipur, Rajasthan (1969) and Bachelor of Arts with Honours in History (1970-73) from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University. He holds a Master of Arts (History) degree (1973-75) from Delhi University, Master of Public Administration (MPA 1984-85) from the School of Public Administration, Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada and Masters in Strategic Studies from the National Defence College (NDC 1992), New Delhi. Besides formal academic programmes, Shri Pradhan has attended a number of in – service programmes in various fields.
Before joining the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in 1977, Shri Pradhan briefly taught history at the undergraduate level in Delhi University and also served in the State Bank Group as a Probationary Officer. He was allotted the Maharashtra cadre in the Indian Administrative Service , in 1977 and worked in state of Maharashtra at the state and district level. He handled both the regulatory and development affairs in various districts of Maharashtra like Sholapur, Kolhapur, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Mumbai Thane, Nagpur and Pune.
He was also closely associated with the setting up of the new district of Sindhudurg in 1980-81. Later he worked as the Member and Secretary of the Maharashtra State Electricity Board. Shri Pradhan has also been the Municipal Commissioner of Pune and Additional Municipal Commissioner of Mumbai. As Director General of YASHADA, he was instrumental in making that institution a premier civil services training institute of the country.He also has a monograph to his credit on civil services reforms in independent India. .
At the national level, Shri Pradhan has worked in the Ministries of Food & Civil Supplies, Home Affairs and Power. He has served in the office of the President of India from 1992 to 1997 both as Director and then Joint Secretary to the President. He also served as Secretary to the Speaker of the LokSabha 2002 to 2003.
Shri Pradhan joined the Ministry of Power, as Joint Secretary, in November, 2003 where he was handling diverse subjects including Planning, Coordination,Energy Efficiency, Transmission and OM. He was promoted as Additional Secretary in January 2008 and looked after Policy & Planning, Transmission including matters relating to Power Grid Corporation of India Limited and their Central Sector projects, Power Trading Corporation, Power Finance Corporation, Operation & Monitoring, Coordination, International Co-operation, Climate Change and the Information Technology Division of Ministry of Power. He also served as Chairman of the Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC)..
Shri Pradhan was promoted as Special Secretary in the Ministry of Power from 1st February, 2011 and took over charge of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy in October 2011.
Besides the above, Shri Pradhan has been responsible for a number of crucial reports on the power sector. He has also had one of the longest involvements (12 years) with the power sector at both state and central level. He was actively involved in the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM) a mission under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) which aims to establish India as a global leader in solar energy.

Dinesh Majithia has been actively involved with energy secrtor for nealry 29 years and has developed a proven ability in various aspect of O&M for conventional as well renewable power plant. He is knowledgeable in strategic planning, cost management, engineering and technology in conventional and renewable energy field.
Dinesh currently serves as VP Engginering and O&M for Wind Assest of Orange Renewable, a renewable energy independent power producer headquartered in New Delhi, India. He has overall responsibility for Wind Assets in the areas of Engineering, Safety, Operations Management and Budget of 567 MW Wind Asset portfolio.
Previously at Enercon India Ltd, Dinesh was responsible for resource planning including Manpower, Material, Budgeting and Technical Governance & Safety of Wind Assets. Asset size under care was 2600+ Wind Energy Convertors and 18 associated Sub Stations across three Southern States of India – Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamilnadu.
Dinesh started his professional career in 1988 with NTPC Limited as an executive trainee in O&M department. During 21 years of professional career at NTPC, he has served at various O&M positions in automation and maintenance planning sections of super thermal as well gas based stations. He has served in Project management during construction phase of 656 MW Kawas combined cycle Power Project.
Dinesh holds degree in Electronics and Communciation from DD Institute of Technology, Gujarat Unitversity. He enjoys reading business news, practicing yoga and social services. He currently resides in the Delhi-Dwarka Area.

Dr. Rajib K Mishra is an Electrical Engineer from NIT, Durgapur and did his Doctorate in Business Administration from Aligarh Muslim University in 2006. Dr. Mishra was accorded visiting scholar status by University of Texas, Austin in 2008 and also has done Post Graduation from NTNU, Norway under Norad Fellowship.
Dr. Mishra has more than 32 years of experience of working in Government Power Utilities. He initially started his career with NTPC and was involved in Grid Operation at CPCC and Durgpaur. He joined POWERGRID in 1995. He was Head of commercial, Business Development and Marketing function of POWERGRID diversified business from 2006 to 2008 and GM (Corporate Monitoring Group) upto 2011.
Dr. Mishra joined PTC India in 2011 as ED (Business Development). He handled additional charge of Commercial and Corporate Planning for 1 ½ year. Presently Dr. Mishra is Director for Marketing & Business Development Activities. He is responsible for business growth and power market development. He planned and implemented automated bidding and information system platform for PTC operations. Dr. Mishra was instrumental in facilitating Indo-Bangladesh cross border trade of 250 MW. He also took initiative for development of power market in African countries like Nigeria and Ghana. He took initiative in launch of innovative products, service marketing, PTC retail business.
He is visiting faculty for NPTI, CBIP, MDI, SAARC Energy Centre. He has authored four books and 24 papers.

Sunil Jain assumed the role of CEO and ED at Hero Future Energies (HFE) in the year 2013. He has over three decades of experience in the entire aspect of business in automotive, infrastructure & cleantech and manufacturing industry.
He specializes in creating new businesses and taking the start-ups to scale. He assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) in a start-up renewable energy development company, GREEN INFRA, a company incubated by IDFC PE. Under his able leadership, Green Infra successfully executed projects in renewable energy and developed several businesses across wind, solar PV and small hydro.
Sunil has been involved in introducing new concepts of power selling in the Indian renewable sector especially wind. His passion about sustainability has been a major influencing factor in his life. He has been actively advocating for stable and meaningful policies to promote the cause of green energy. Sunil has spearheaded the HFE team in their determinations towards making HFE one of the largest IPP in India, in a short time span.
He is the President of Wind Independent Power Producers Association (WIPPA), a pan India association representing all the leading IPP’s in the country. He is also member of CII Renewable Energy Committee. He has been awarded Excellence Award in the year 2012 for his contribution to renewable energy and sustainability by “Energy and Environment Foundation”. His academic research paper on “Sustainability and Renewable Consumption Obligation” has been presented at forums of international repute.
Mr. M.R.Sreenivasa Murthy served as Chairman, Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission from March 2010 to March 2015. Before joining the KERC he served Government of Karnataka in several positions including Additional Chief Secretary and Principal Secretary, Finance; Principal secretary Rural Development; Commissioner of the Bangalore City Corporation; Managing Director of the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation; Commissioner for Excise, and Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister. His assignments with Government of India were as Principal Secretary, Election Commission of India, and Controller, ISRO Satellite Centre, Department of Space.
David Rasquinha, currently officiates as the Managing Director of the Export-Import Bank of India, pending selection process. Prior to this, he was the Deputy Managing Director of the Bank, holding business responsibility for the Bank’s Lines of Credit, Treasury & Accounts, Human Resources, Information Technology, Economic Research and Risk Management groups. David joined Exim Bank in 1985 and since then has had a wide ranging exposure to the broad fields of Export Credit, Structured Finance, Project Exports, Risk Management, Resources and Treasury.

Mr. Manuj Khjurana is an Assistant Vice President at Invest India, the national investment promotion and facilitation agency of India. In his role as Assistant Vice President in Invest India, he is responsible for leading Investments into Renewable Energy.
Mr. Khurana has 7+ years of experience in management consulting, advisory, entrepreneurship, and operations. He has held positions across multinationals and India companies including Accenture Strategy, CEB, i3 Consulting and John Deere.
His last role in corporate was as a Strategy Consultant at Accenture – a 34 Billion+ USD company, where he was responsible for development sector consulting vertical in South East Asia.
Mr. Khurana has a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from NIT Kurukshetra, Post graduate diploma in Management from IIM Bangalore, and CFA Certification from CFA institute, USA.
Balram is an Electrical Engineer (Gold Medalist) from Regional Engineering College (now known as NIT), Hamirpur (HP) and has earned an MBA in Operations Management.
He started his career with DCM Engineering products (Foundry Unit of DCM Group) in Electrical Maintenance and Projects Department and spent close to 11 years with DCM.
He joined Enercon India Limited and wind sector in 2003. He was responsible for O&M of southern states in Enercon. After that Balram worked with CLP Power India Limited as Vice President, Operations (Renewable), responsible for the construction and O&M of CLP wind portfolio.
He joined ReNew Power, which is one of the fastest growing IPPs in India in December 2011. At ReNew Power, Balram is responsible for the development of the company’s strategy for the growth of wind business. His role also encompasses identifying potential new business partners and possible opportunities of profitable association with them. His specialization is product and project technical due diligence, commercial and contract negotiations, project construction, operation and maintenance.
A mechanical engineer from BITS Pilani and an Advanced Management graduate from Harvard Business School, Shishir is Managing Director of SKF India Ltd. He is also the Country Head for SKF group’s subsidiaries in India. Shishir worked in various capacities with Thermax Limited for first 26 years of his career prior to joining SKF in December 2009.
SKF is listed amongst India’s 50 most admired companies in 2012 and 2014 by Fortune. In 2013 Businessworld and Business Today listed Shishir amongst India’s most valuable CEOs and top 100 CEOs in India respectively.

She is an IAS officer of 1995 batch, AGMUT cadre, presently serving as Secretary Power, Government of NCT Delhi.
She was previously Joint Secretary in the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, Govt of India, and before that, Director with the Census of India. Infrastructure, Urban Planning, Gender Issues and Leveraging Data for Development are my major areas of experience and interest. Just as she entered this assignment, India announced its 175 GW renewables target, with 60 GW wind. Within her two year tenure, scheduling and forecasting mechanisms for wind were successfully implemented both technologically and in the regulatory space, interstate transmission charges were waived, the first industry-supported inter-state wind bid of 1 GW was floated, the highest-ever annual capacity addition of 3.4 GW came about; wind project guidelines were simplified and liberalised, a draft wind-solar hybrid policy was published, and India's wind potential was reassessed as 302 GW at 100 m hub height.
Shri A S Bakshi, a Mechanical Engineer with M B A, has a total experience of more than 39 years in Power Sector. Shri Bakshi started his career at Badarpur thermal power station ( New Delhi) in 1974 while the project was still under construction. He cleared Engineering services examination of 1974 and was assigned Central Power Engineering Service (CPES). He joined Central Water and Power Commission in 1975 and was again posted at Badarpur thermal power station. He worked in operations of the plant for more than 4 years before being posted in Efficiency cell. Shri Bakshi introduced the concept of efficiency audit in the plant in 1977 when efficiency tests of thermal plants were relatively unknown. He also participated in many R&D projects of BHEL at this power plant.
A number of important reports were finalized during his tenure as Chairperson CEA- these included 17th Electric Power Survey, Standard specifications for supercritical units, General review 2011 and 2012, Carbon dioxide base line data, Removal of CTC from power sector, Key inputs for 12th five year plan etc.
Shri Bakshi joined CERC as a member on 5th August 2014.
Rakesh Nath has more than 40 years of varied experience in Power Sector Planning, Operation & Maintenance of Thermal and Hydro Power Stations and Transmission System, Regulation of water supply from multi-purpose hydro projects, Power System Operation, Power Trading, electricity regulatory affairs and adjudication.
He was Technical Member, Appellate Tribunal for Electricity (APTEL) from March, 2010 to May 2015, wherein he dealt with the Appeals filed against the orders of Central Electricity Regulatory Commission and various State Electricity Regulatory Commissions.
As Chairman CEA, he worked extensively for accelerated capacity addition during the 11th Five Year Plan and initiated advance action for the 12th Plan.
He was a part time Director of Nuclear Power Corporation from 2005 to 2013.
As Chairman, Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) from the year 2001 to 2005, he was responsible for administration, operation and maintenance of Bhakra Beas hydro stations, the largest hydro complex in Northern Region.
Shri Rakesh Nath has been the Member Secretary of Northern Regional Electricity Board (NREB) and Western Regional Electricity Board (WREB).
He is also a member of Advisory Board/Committee of IEX and REMCL. He is a Founding Member of Academy of Regulatory Professionals.
He is presently a Partner of RNSM Energy Advisors LLP working as a Consultant mostly dealing with policy and regulatory issues in electricity sector.
Mahesh Palashikar leads GE’s onshore wind business in the Asia Pacific region (including India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Australia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Japan and South Korea), a leading global provider of wind and solar energy products and services and energy storage solutions. He assumed this position in July 2013, and is currently based at Gurgaon in India.

Mahesh is a 17-year GE veteran who has worked and advanced through a series of increasingly responsible assignments in manufacturing operations, global supply chain, quality, lean six sigma, sales and services within GE’s Healthcare and Power & Water divisions.
Prior to joining GE in 2000, Mahesh worked for more than a decade with Philips in India in their industrial and automotive electronics business.
Mahesh holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering and a degree in cost and works accounting from India and a master’s degree in business administration from USA. He has also received GE’s six sigma master black belt certification while in the USA.
Alok Gupta was trained as a mechanical engineer at IIT Delhi and subsequent worked for Hindustan lever and Cabot Corporation in various technical and business roles in India and Asia.
Currently, he is heading the business in ME, South Asia and ASEAN for Reichhold, a global company engaged in manufacturing Unsaturated Polyester, Vinyl Ester and related products. He joined Reichhold about 6 years ago.
The manufacturing plant in India is located at Ranjangaon and is one of the most advanced factories of the company, manufacturing various products from amongst Reichhold portfolio and is capable of serving the current and upcoming advanced composite requirements for India and the larger Asia region. The second plant in this region is located in JAFZA zone in Dubai.
Shri Pankaj Batra did his B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University, Diploma in Systems Management from NMIMS, Mumbai, Diploma in Financial Management from IGNOU, New Delhi and Diploma in Public Speaking from Nazareth Speakers Academy, Mumbai.
He joined the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) in 1983 through the UPSC’s Combined Engineering Services Examination.
He has worked in the Western Regional Load Despatch Centre (WRLDC) as a System Operator, operation and maintenance of Power House, Switchyard and Dam in Chukha Hydro Power Corporation in Bhutan and operation and maintenance of transmission and distribution system of Bhutan and also erection of the first 220 kV station in Bhutan.
He has worked as Chief (Engineering) in Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) formulating various Regulations.
He also worked as Chief Engineer involved in Financial and Commercial Appraisal of power generation and transmission projects in the CEA.
He was Member Secretary of the Task Force on Peaking Power Plants and Creation of Adequate System Reserves. He was also in the Committee of Ministry of Power for formulation of Model Smart Grid Regulations, which were then submitted to the Forum of Regulators.
He is now Member (Planning), Central Electricity Authority, ex-officio Additional Secretary to the Government of India, and oversees various planning functions.
Mr. Wypior holds a degree as an economist from the University of Bonn, Germany. He has been working in various industrial and development co-operation projects in Eastern Europe, Central Asia, South Asia and South East Asia. Mr. Wypior joined GIZ in 2003 as a regional manager in the Asia-Pacific department responsible for energy and environment projects. From 2005 - 2010 he was seconded to India for the implementation of the National CFC Consumption Phase-out Plan and the National CTC Phase-out Plan under the Montreal Protocol on Substances that deplete the Ozone Layer. From 2012 – 2015 he headed the support office of the Indo-German Energy Forum in New Delhi. At present he is the Deputy Director of the Indo-German Energy Programme (IGEN) and heads the IGEN Green Energy Corridor Project on large scale grid integration of renewable energy.
Nagaraja Rao is the Asia Regional Coordinator for Private Financing Advisory Network. (PFAN). PFAN is hosted by United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP) based out of Vienna. PFAN identifies promising clean energy projects and provides mentoring for development of a business plan, investment pitch, and growth strategy, significantly enhancing the possibility of financial closure.
In the last ten years, over 300 clean energy projects have been inducted into the PFAN Project Development Pipeline. More than 87 of these projects have achieved financial closure with over US$ 1.2 billion of investment raised till last quarter of 2016.
As Asia Regional Coordinator, Nagaraja has over the last ten years evaluated nearly 350 business plans in clean energy from many developing countries. He has mentored nearly 100 projects making them investment ready with funding structures, business plans, financial modelling and risk mitigation to facilitate such projects to access market funding. Many of these projects won the best business plan awards at the Investors forums and achieved financial closure. He has organized many project development workshops and investors forums both nationally and internationally for Cleantech enterprises.
Nagaraja is also cofounder of Dawn Consulting a boutique corporate financial consulting company specializing in equity and debt funding including foreign direct investments and external commercial borrowings. Dawn Consulting has an impeccable track record of executing over 400 financial advisory assignments for its various domestic and international clients over the last seventeen years.

Christian Jourdain has served as the Senior Marketing & Communication Manager for Gamesa’s Services Aftersales business since 2011. Rahul is President and Managing Director of Customized Energy Solutions India Pvt. Ltd. Rahul leads the Emerging Technologies practice for Customized Energy Solutions globally with focus on energy storage, renewables, demand response and smart grid technologies as well as international markets. Rahul has been involved in evaluating economics of emerging technologies in deregulated electricity markets since 2004. His activities have covered complete range of smart grid, demand response, microgrid and energy storage technologies.
Rahul is founder and Executive Director for India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA). He served as member of the Board of Directors of Energy Storage Association (ESA) in US and was elected as Secretory in 2013. He was elected as Vice Chair for Global Energy Storage Alliance (GESA) in 2014.
Rahul is involved in providing inputs for demand response, energy storage & smart grid policy to government agencies in US and India as well as has provided inputs to multilateral agencies such as IRENA, IEA & ADB.
He has served as an expert evaluator for US Department of Energy for various smart grid and energy storage demonstration projects in US.
Rahul holds a Ph.D. in Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University. He also holds Masters in Energy Management from New York Institute of Technology and undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Walchand College of Engineering, Sangli.
Mr. Reddy has rich experience for more than 25 years in the Indian Renewable Energy industry. Over this two decades, he has been instrumental in conceptualizing, planning and implementing over 3000 Wind Turbines of various capacities along with associated infrastructure, across the Wind-potential region in India.
He was instrumental in bringing many first of its kind concepts to wind industry, which were later replicated across the sector.
He is founder and promotor of Enerfra Projects (India) Pvt Ltd. Prior to this, he has worked in reputed companies like, Subash projects and Marketing Ltd, Kirloskar Electric Co. Ltd., and Enercon India Ltd.
Kuljit Singh Popli is B.Sc. (Engg.) – Electrical from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra with Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management and also holds a degree in Law (LLB) from Delhi University.
He started his carrier with National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC), where he was associated with design, engineering and supervision of hydro-electric projects. In 1993, he joined Power Finance Corporation (PFC), where he worked for appraisal and financing of Thermal, Hydro, Transmission & Distribution projects.
Since 2007, he is working with IREDA as Director (Technical) and took over as Chairman & Managing Director, IREDA from March 2014. He has been instrumental in bringing out new financial products and to help meet financing requirement for the renewable sector. He is also Country Representative –International Solar Alliance- Affordable Finance at Scale.
Soren Hoffer holds a Master of Law from the University of Aarhus and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Aarhus School of Business. He started his career at the law firm Kromann Reumert before joining LM Wind Power in 2002 as a corporate lawyer. He assumed global responsibility for the Patent department and Mergers & Acquisitions. Thereafter, Søren operated as Vice President, Corporate Staff, with the overall responsibility for Global HR, Global Communications, Patents, Audit & Risk, Sales & Operations Planning, Legal and Corporate Strategy. In his current role as LM Wind Power´s Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Søren is responsible for all commercial onshore aspects of blades as well as LM Wind Power´s expansion globally.
Balawant is a founder, promoter and Managing Director of Idam Infrastructure Advisory. Balawant is an energy sector expert with more than 25 years of experience in the energy and utilities sector. In power sector, his experience spans across entire value chain i.e. generation, transmission, distribution and supply. He has been extensively involved in restructuring/ reforms of utilities and has dealt with various issues ranging from financial restructuring, regulatory, financial due diligence, assessment and development IT processes, etc.
He has been involved in design, development and implementation of several policies for conventional as well as renewable energy technologies. He was involved in design, development and implementation of ‘Renewable Energy Certificate Mechanism’ and ‘Perform, Achieve and Trade’ mechanism, a market-based mechanism for promotion of industrial energy efficiency. Recently, he was involved in development of innovative policy and regulatory initiative for rural micro-grids and development of institutional structure and regulatory framework for Demand Side Management for utility sector in India. He also assisted Government of India in design of Phase II of Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission.

Balawant is an electrical engineer with post graduation in both finance and software technology.
Mahesh Makhija is responsible for developing CLP’s India renewable energy business and ensuring that current projects meet business targets. He joined CLP Group in August 2006 and is located in Mumbai, India.
Before entering the energy sector, Mahesh spent 7 years in tax, business advisory and corporate finance consultancy, 6 out of which were with Arthur Andersen & Co in Mumbai where he worked with a number of leading companies within pharmaceutical, chemical, shipping and media sectors.

Mr. D.G. Kamath is the Executive Vice-President – Sales & Marketing at Gamesa Renewable Private Limited. He has an overall experience of 30 years’ in the power sector with 15 years of experience in renewable energy industry in the country. As a pioneer of power industry, he has served across the areas of generation & distribution of power.

Dr. Kumar obtained his PhD. in Solar Energy from IIT Delhi and has been a major contributor to the promotion and development of Solar Thermal technology in the country. Chintan Shah is President with SUZLON Energy Limited. He heads the Strategic Business Development division of the company. Shruti holds over 12 years of international experience working in the fields of energy policy and climate change. She joined the Global Wind Energy Council in 2010 as a Sr. Policy Advisor. At GWEC she is responsible for global wind markets analysis, policy and regulatory affairs and external projects. She is based out of Washington D.C.
Shruti is also leads work under the GWEC led the Facilitating Offshore Wind in India (FOWIND) project. She is a co-author of FOWIND Pre-Feasibility Assessment for Offshore Wind Reports for Gujarat and Tamil Nadu; and the FOWIND Global Offshore Wind Policy and Market Assessment Reports. She has contributed to and edited the Supply Chain, Port Infrastructure and Logistics Study under the project.

Sumant Sinha is the Founder Chairman and CEO of ReNew Power, one of India’s largest clean energy companies. Currently, Sumant serves as the founder Chairman of the Indian Wind Energy Alliance (IWEA) and as Deputy Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) – Northern Region, CII Special Task Force on Solar Power. He is on the Advisory Board of Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA). He is also on the Board of the Raj Center of Indian Economic Policy at Columbia University. He holds a B. Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, an MBA from IIM Calcutta and a Master’s degree from SIPA, where he was a Dean’s fellow. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a National Talent Scholar.
Recently, Sumant was the recipient of the prestigious “Renewable Energy Leader of the Year 2015” award at the National Awards for Excellence in Renewable Energy in July 2015 and the “Excellence Award- 2015 in Renewable Energy Sector” by the Energy and Environment Foundation in August 2015.
V.Subramanian joined the Indian Administrative Service, premier service of the Government of India in 1971. Till his retirement in June 2008 as the Secretary to the Government in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, he occupied various important positions in the Government of West Bengal and the Government of India. His rich experience both at the implementation level and policy making level cuts across various sectors like Finance, Aviation, Energy, Labour etc. Mr. Subramanian was instrumental in the creation of the External Commercial Borrowings Division in the Ministry of Finance in the eighties and structured many innovative deals for Indian Public Sector Enterprises. He was also the Adviser to the Government of Mozambique for three years in 1990-1993. He was also the Secretary to the State Government in the Departments of Power and Labour. As Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser in the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism (2000-2005) he was closely involved in policy formulation on Aviation and Tourism. He was on the Boards of Air India, Indian Airlines, Airports Authority of India, Helicopters Corporation of India, Indian Tourism Development Corporation and a host of other PSEs. He was also the Member -Secretary of the High level Committee to recommend a roadmap for the growth of aviation in India. Most of the recommendations are being acted upon now. As Secretary in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, he undertook path breaking initiatives that resulted in more than doubling the grid connected renewable power generation capacity in less than three years. He pioneered the Solar Mission when he was in this position. Presently, he is the Chairman & Secretary General of the Indian Wind Energy Association, a position he has occupied since October, 2008. He was also the Business Development Adviser to the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research for a year, after his retirement. Besides being a freelance consultant, he has taken up independent directorships of a few public and private sector companies. He is based at Delhi presently. He is a well known speaker on “Renewable Energy” in various international conferences. He is also the key person in the formation of the new organization for policy advocacy in the area of renewable energy as a whole in India known as the “Indian Renewable Energy Federation”.

Mr. Mathur is a Honours Graduate in Commerce from University of Delhi and has over 30 years of experience in managing industry associations. He started his career with the Confederation of Indian Industry in 1981. During his 14 years in CII he was in-charge of the Karnataka State Office and the Gujarat State Office. He was also the Director in-charge of a number of Industry Divisions in CII. He moved to ACMA as its Executive Director in 1994. Mr. Mathur has made key contributions in giving a global orientation to the work of ACMA. He has been actively involved in the Association’s work concerning exports, international trade policy, technology development, capacity building, focused projects for enhancing the competitiveness of the auto-component industry and in promoting global outsourcing opportunities for the Indian component industry. Mr. Mathur has also coordinated specialised developmental projects for the auto-component sector in co-operation with the International Trade Centre (ITC) and UNIDO and other national and international institutions.
Anil has had an extended entrepreneurial career during which he was involved in evolving start-up businesses in Information Technology, Infrastructure and Environmental sectors in the UK and India. Anil is experienced in M&A, transition and project management with a successful track record of managing operations involving large remote teams. He co-founded and developed Greenko with Mahesh Kolli in 2004 and incorporated it in early 2006 to raise funds for financing early operations. He is responsible for effectively implementing the strategic business road map of Greenko Group. Anil is a graduate in Computer Science and holds a Masters from North West University.
DR ARUNABHA GHOSH is a public policy professional, adviser, author, columnist, and institution builder. He is the founder-CEO of the Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW), consistently ranked (four years running) as one of South Asia's leading policy research institutions; and among the world’s 20 best climate think-tanks in 2016. With experience in 41 countries, he previously worked at Princeton, Oxford, UNDP (New York), and WTO (Geneva). Arunabha advises governments, industry, civil society and international organisations around the world. He is the co-author/editor of four books and dozens of research papers and reports. He is a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, appointed to WEF’s Global Future Council on Energy. He is an Asia Society Asia 21 Young Leader, and fellow of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
Dr Ghosh led CEEW into a leading think-tank soon after its founding in August 2010. He has been actively involved in the design of the International Solar Alliance since inception. He conceptualised and is a founding board member of the Clean Energy Access Network (CLEAN), an industry body for hundreds of decentralised energy entrepreneurs. Dr Ghosh has advised India’s Prime Minister’s Office, several ministries, state governments and international organisations on a range of subjects. He was invited by the Government of France as a Personnalité d’Avenir to advise on the COP21 climate negotiations. He also advised on HFC negotiations under the Montreal Protocol. He is a member of Track II dialogues with seven countries; and formulated the Maharashtra-Guangdong Partnership on Sustainability. He serves on the Executive Committee of the India-U.S. PACEsetter Fund. He has presented to heads of state and legislatures across the world on varied topics including global governance, international relations and human development, climate, energy, natural resources and water, trade and intellectual property, development assistance, conflict and extremism.
Arunabha’s co-authored essay “Rethink India’s energy strategy” in Nature, the world’s most cited scientific journal, was selected as one of 2015’s ten most influential essays. Widely published, he is most recently co-author of Energizing India: Towards a Resilient and Equitable Energy System (SAGE, 2016); Human Development and Global Institutions: Evolution, impact, reform (Routledge, 2016); and Climate Change: A Risk Assessment (FCO, 2015). He is the co-editor of The Palgrave Handbook of the International Political Economy of Energy (2016). He has been a co-author of three UNDP Human Development Reports, including the pathbreaking Beyond Scarcity: Power, poverty and the global water crisis (2006). He writes a monthly column in the Business Standard, hosted a documentary on water in Africa, and featured in a National Geographic documentary on energy.
He holds a doctorate from the University of Oxford (Clarendon Scholar; Marvin Bower Scholar), an M.A. (First Class) in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (Balliol College, Oxford; Radhakrishnan Scholar); and topped Economics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi.
Morten Dyrholm was appointed as Chairman of GWEC in May 2016. The Global Wind Energy Council represents the major companies as well as the major wind energy associations (China, India, Japan, Brazil, Mexico, Australia, Canada, USA, Europe, France, Germany, Greece, Spain, Denmark, Italy, Korea, South Africa and Turkey) involved in the global wind industry.
Morten Dyrholm became Group Senior Vice President for Marketing, Communications and Public Affairs for Vestas in August 2016. Prior to that, he was Global Vice President for Vestas Wind Energy, where he led Marketing, External relations and Public Affairs. He has been with Vestas for the last ten years and is an expert in wind energy policy and regulation.
Dyrholm has extensive experience from the wind industry around the world, in particular from Asia, and has worked three years for Vestas in China where he was in charge of business development and governmental affairs. He holds a Master degree in Political Science and Chinese Politics.
At GWEC Morten Dyrholm is working to ensure that wind power takes its rightful place in the energy options for the future; and with opening up new markets for the industry in Latin America, Africa and Asia.
Dr. Pramod Deo, former Chairman of the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission was electricity regulator for over 11 years, a record in India. Dr. Deo has 33 years of experience in the energy sector. He has co-authored three books on energy planning, energy management and regulations for green energy.
Dr. Deo has worked with two international institutions namely the UNEP DTU Partnership on Energy, Climate and Sustainable Development (formerly URC), Denmark and Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok. He is a recipient of the World Wind Energy Association’s Award in the year 2005 for his outstanding achievement in the dissemination of wind energy.
Deepak Bagla has a professional career of over 28 years, starting with the World Bank in Washington DC before moving back to India to join the Corporate Projects team of RPG Enterprises. In 1989 he joined Citibank Global Corporate and Investment Banking team and for the next 18 years held several responsibilities across Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. In 2007 he joined 3i Private Equity to start an India dedicated fund for core infrastructure.
Mr Bagla is a special invitee to the Government of India’s, “High Level Committee on Financing Infrastructure” – (2011- 2013). He was a member of the Banking & Finance Committee of the Bureau of Indian Standards (ISO affiliate 2005-06) and was also a member of the committee established by the Government to recommend corporate governance norms for independent directors (2006). He was elected President of Delhi Management Association (2008-09)
Mr. Bagla is currently Managing Director & CEO of Invest India, the national investment promotion and facilitation agency for India. Invest India is a joint venture between DIPP (Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India), FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry), and State governments of India. The primary mandate of Invest India is to promote and facilitate investments into India and the agency has been supporting Government of India in the “Make in India” initiative.
Mr Bagla has a Bachelor’s degree with Honors in Economics from St Stephens College, New Delhi and a dual Masters in International Diplomacy and International Trade and Finance from The School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University, Washington DC.
Suresh KV comes with an experience of over 25 years. His inclination towards the auto and manufacturing sector is reflected through his career graph. Currently he is designated as the President for ZF in India. In this role, he heads ZF India as well as the Business Park in Pune. KV is responsible for the performance, growth and the development of all lines of business for ZF in India as well as the operations of ZF India Pvt. Ltd. Being goal oriented he believes in setting short term & long term goals for the organization and working towards it systematically. He drives the organization through consistent strategic clarity, innovation and growth, and disciplined execution to deliver optimum results.
Mr. Suresh KV’s career in the manufacturing sector began at Asian Paints Limited. He also has in his kitty an experience of 8 years with one of the largest Indian auto manufacturer-Bajaj Auto. Visteon India & Philips are among the other organizations that he has worked with prior to ZF. His journey with ZF, formerly known as Hansen Drives, began in 2007 when he joined the organization as the General Manager-Operations Centre. Through his consistent performance and contribution to the growth of ZF he was elevated to the role of Executive Director of ZF Wind Power Coimbatore Ltd in November 2010.
Born in London, U.K. and popularly known internationally as the “Green Maharaja”, Mr. Rakesh Bakshi, LFIMA, FIE, FNAE from a very young age recognized the great potential that alternative sources of energy offered and so committed all his energy and resources towards developing applications towards building a greener and cleaner planet.
Over the past 3 decades he has successfully promoted and implemented advanced climate friendly technologies past the demonstration phase, more particularly by converting Renewable Sources of Energy into Heat and Power.
Acknowledged as a Pioneer and Visionary in the field of Renewable Energy and having contributed extensively to harnessing and promoting Renewables for everyday energy needs, the Government Of India in recognition of his immense contribution in the crucial area of alternate sources of energy, honoured him in the year 1991 with the “Padma Shri,” one of India’s high civilian awards.
He has also received various National/International honours and awards for his pioneering work in the continuous and ongoing Promotion of Renewable Energy Technologies (RETs). He has persistently advocated the use of RETs in the context of abating Global Warming and mitigating adverse Climate Change.
The Pioneer and Visionary who brought the concept and meaning of the Term “Wind Power” to India in the mid 1980’s, has never looked back since.
Kameswara Rao is a Partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers and heads the GRID practice (Government Reforms and Infrastructure Development). Kami’s has over 24 years’ experience in power sector during which he was involved in a number of industry firsts, such as designing the first multi-year regulatory tariff regime; structuring India’s first cross-border private power transaction; and as subject expert for Africa’s largest renewable procurement program in South Africa.
Kameswara has advised several start-up companies and overseas sponsors develop their renewable energy portfolio, starting from business plans, acquiring early stage assets, structuring business models, contracting procurement, and in financing and partnerships. Kameswara worked on renewable energy projects in several countries besides India viz., Bhutan, Nepal, China, Kyrgyzstan, South Africa, etc.
Ramesh Kymal is the Chairman & Managing Director of Gamesa Wind Turbines Private Limited., a wholly owned subsidiary of the € 3 billon Gamesa Group, Spain. Gamesa is the leading supplier of wind power technology in the world and a driving force behind the development of the wind power industry.
Gamesa established its presence in India in the year 2009. Since then Mr. Kymal has piloted the company’s growth successfully by commissioning more than 1400 MW of wind power projects across the country. He has been instrumental in establishing a world class nacelle manufacturing facility at Mamandur, near Chennai, Tamilnadu , Blade manufacturing unit at Halol, Gujarat & a state of the art Integrated Service & monitoring center at Redhills, Chennai, Tamilnadu.
Prior to this Mr. Kymal spearheaded Vestas – the Danish Wind Technology company in India which eventually turned out to be one of the successful companies in Indian Market under his eminent leadership. Mr. Kymal is a Mechanical Engineer with specialization in Operations Research, Statistical Quality Control and has pursued higher management studies at INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France. He has over 25 years of experience in the renewable energy industry, casting his leadership traits across multi – national renewable energy corporations thus bringing out continuous growth in India’s renewable energy business.
Owing to his treasured experience, today he holds responsible and reputed positions in renewable energy associations in pursuit of promoting the sector by increasing business and investment opportunities. He is the founding circle member of the prestigious Brookings Institution in India. He is the Chairman of Renewable Energy Council of CII – Sohrabji Godrej Green Business Centre and he is on the advisory Board of Shakthi Sustainable Energy foundation to promote and make India as a world leader in renewable energy sector by facilitating the formulation of consistent renewable long term energy policies and innovative financing mechanisms. He is recipient of the Solar Society of India Award in 2005 for ‘Business Leadership in Wind Power’.
Apart from his strong commitment towards environment, he also brings out a persistent social commitment towards various philanthropic activities concentrated in the areas of education and social upliftment of girl children.
Ajay Mathur is Director General of TERI - The Energy & Resources Institute, and a member of the Prime Minister's Council on Climate Change.
He was Director General of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency in the Government of India from 2006 till February, 2016, and responsible for bringing energy efficiency into our homes, offices, and factories, through initiatives such as the star labelling programme for appliances, the Energy Conservation Building Code, and the Perform, Achieve and Trade programme for energy-intensive industries.
Dr. Mathur was earlier with TERI from 1986 to 2000, and then headed the Climate Change Team of World Bank in Washington DC. He was President of Suzlon Energy Limited, also headed the interim Secretariat of the Green Climate Fund.
He has been a key Indian climate-change negotiator, and was also the Indian spokesperson at the 2015 climate negotiations at Paris. He is a global leader on technological approaches to address climate change; recently, he joined the global group of industrial, financial and think-tank leaders to co-chair an Energy Transitions Commission which will suggest ways for companies and countries to move towards climate-friendly energy futures.
Ajit Pandit, one of the Founding Director of Idam Infrastructure Advisory Private Limited has more than 20 years of experience in dealing with varied aspects of energy and utilities sector in India. He brings with him the regulatory perspective and is well versed with risks and commercial arrangements associated with development, construction and implementation of various renewable energy generation schemes, transmission, evacuation, grid connectivity aspects and distribution schemes.
Ajit is recognized by the industry as expert on policy & regulatory matters concerning electricity industry and renewable energy sector in particular. He has assisted several Utilities, RE Developers and State Electricity Regulatory Commissions in addressing regulatory issues influencing growth of renewable energy sector in India and Bangladesh.
Ranjit is CEO of Ostro Energy. Ostro is a Renewable Energy company, backed by Actis PE, established in 2014 with the objective of constructing 1 GW of Renewable Energy projects by 2018. Ostro is well on its way to achieving its targets with over 650 MW of operating assets as of March 2017. Ranjit is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from IIT-Bombay and started his career with Schlumberger Oilfield Services in Japan. Schlumberger is the leading service provider in the Oil & Gas space present in almost every country where Oil is produced. Ranjit was also the founding CEO for Indiabulls Power business and also co-founded Orange Renewable, another leading Renewable Energy company in India.
Sudhir Nunes has been actively involved with energy innovation for over 19 years, and has developed a proven ability in energy technology procurement, sales, negotiation, management, operations and financing. He is knowledgeable in strategic planning, corporate finance, cost management, financial accounting and engineering, and has technology expertise and market intelligence in conventional and alternative energy sectors in Asia, Europe and America.
Sudhir currently serves as CEO Wind Business of Orange Renewable, a renewable energy independent power producer headquartered in New Delhi, India. He has overall responsibility for developing and building a profitable renewable IPP business with committed equity investment of $300 MM. Sudhir has led Orange Renewable’s wind platform growth from zero to 366MW operating, 200MW under execution and 600MW under development in 3.5 years. Along the way, Sudhir has recruited 140 professionals in project development, execution, O&M, engineering, procurement, legal, contracts and finance in a competitive job market to position Orange Renewable for sustained growth.
Previously at Gamesa, Sudhir managed the commercialization and industrialization of the largest on-shore wind turbine in North America, Gamesa’s G10X 4.5MW model. He led a multidisciplinary team of managers in development, sales, technology, manufacturing, logistics, construction and services. Prior to that role, Sudhir recruited and managed a team of 8 commercial managers responsible for managing service and warranty relationships with owners of 2,000 MW+ of wind turbines in North America, while driving after- sales revenue growth and supporting new unit sales activity. Sudhir’s team achieved $9 MM+ annual EBITDA contribution within 2 years, delivered service contract proposals valued at $900 MM+ in total revenue and negotiated $20 MM+ in product warranty claims and performance bonuses and penalties.
Prior to joining Gamesa, Sudhir managed investments at the Renewable Energy Trust, an economic development fund investing $25 MM annually into early and growth stage renewable energy companies on behalf of the State of Massachusetts. He was also responsible for business development, attracting clean energy companies to Massachusetts, and helping local companies establish partnerships around the world. Sudhir was a key contributor to policy guidelines incorporated in the Massachusetts Clean Energy Biofuels Act in 2008 that led to a #3 ranking among states in reducing oil dependence and leadership in the development of a regional Low Carbon Fuel Standard.
Before joining the Renewable Energy Trust, he founded Orca Energy SL, an award-winning startup in Spain focused on new energy storage technology. He also worked in business development for Intelligent Energy, a London-based fuel cell company, and designed commercial aircraft engines for General Electric.
Sudhir holds a bilingual MBA from IESE Business School in Barcelona, a Professional Engineering License, an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University. He served as a Board Director of the Asia America Chamber of Commerce and Founding Co-Chair of the Energy and Cleantech SIG at The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE). He enjoys scuba diving, squash, sketching and international travel. He currently resides in the Delhi-NCR area.
Steve Sawyer joined the Global Wind Energy Council as its first Secretary General in April 2007. The Global Wind Energy Council represents the major wind energy associations (China, India, Japan, Brazil, Mexico, Australia, Canada, USA, Europe, France, Germany, Greece, Spain, Denmark, Italy, Korea, South Africa and Turkey) as well as the major companies involved in the global wind industry.
Steve has worked in the energy and environment field since 1978, with a particular focus on climate change and renewable energy since 1988. He spent many years working for Greenpeace International, representing the organization at intergovernmental and industry fora primarily on energy and climate issues. At GWEC he is focussed on working with intergovernmental organisations such as the UNFCCC, IPCC, IRENA, IEA, IFC and ADB to ensure that wind power takes its rightful place in the energy options for the future; and with opening up new markets for the industry in Latin America, Africa and Asia.
Steve is also a founding member of both the REN21 Renewable Energy Policy Network and the IEA’s Renewable Industry Advisory Board. He advised the Chinese government on the formulation of its renewable energy legislation, as well as providing expert reviewing for the IPCC’s Working Group III. He grew up in rural New Hampshire and holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Haverford College, is married to Kelly Rigg, has two children Layla and Sam and has lived in Amsterdam since 1989.
Shri Soonee has first hand four decades of experience of Power System Operation of various Regional Grids of India and has worked extensively towards Integration of State Grids to form Regional Grids and subsequent integration of Regional Grids leading to the formation of the National Grid.
He specializes in Power System Operation, Planning, Commercial, Settlement, Restoration and entire gamut of Power Pooling and Governance. Other areas of interest include Electricity Markets, Open Access, Regulatory affairs besides expertise in Load Despatch Technology, integration of Renewable Energy including REC Mechanism, Transmission Pricing and development of Ancillary Services.
He is a Life Fellow of Institution of Engineers (India) , Fellow of IEEE , Distinguished Alumnus IIT Kharagpur, Distinguished Member CIGRE and Fellow of INAE.
He has represented India on the CIGRE Study Committee C2 on Power System Operation and currently represents India on the CIGRE Study Committee C5 on Electricity Markets and Regulation.
Mathias Steck (老马) is the Executive Vice President and Regional Manager Asia Pacific for Energy and Renewables Advisory; and member of the Executive Leadership Team of DNV GL – Energy. Based in Singapore, Mathias has 14 years of experience in the renewable energy industry. During this time, he has performed a wide range of tasks as an expert in charge of structural components of wind turbines including reviews, inspections, expert opinions, failure analysis, technical due diligence, guideline development and technical seminars.
Before the merger of DNV and Germanischer Lloyd in September 2013, Mathias was the Regional Manager of GL Garrad Hassan Asia Pacific. His position involved managing a team of more than 130 Inspectors and Engineers specializing in Energy located in offices in Singapore, China, Thailand, India, Australia, Korea and Japan.
Mathias has a German Diploma (equivalent to Masters Degree) in 'Civil Engineering and Environmental Technology' (2001) from the ‘Technical University Hamburg-Harburg’.
Mr Giri has been with the wind industry for more than two decades and he is currently the Secretary General for Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association.
In his career spanning well over 40 years, Mr Giri has been associated with very many diversified industries which include Steel, Fertilizer, Glassfiber and tyre/tyre cord.
The Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association (IWTMA) is the only industrial body representing the country’s wind turbine manufacturers and providing single point contact for policy makers at National and State levels, Regulatory Bodies and Utilities. IWTMA’s main objective is to promote wind energy in India, facilitate the extension of knowledge in the field and interacts with national and global wind energy bodies.
Mr Giri has been actively involved in strategic planning and growth of the wind power sector in India. He has been responsible for many initiatives in the wind power sector like Real Time Forecasting, promotion of Green Collar Jobs, creation of a pool of skilled manpower through collaboration with Universities and Colleges etc. He is also currently involved in promoting supply chain in India.
Mr Giri is also a member of the Governing Council and the R&D Council of Centre for Wind Energy Technology, an independent body working under the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy responsible for testing and certifying turbines, wind resource assessment, research and development activities.
Mr Giri has travelled extensively both in India and abroad and has interest in Religion and Philosophy.
Mr Giri holds Post Graduate Degree in Management and is from an illustrious family of lawyers, politicians, artists and thinkers.
Bo focuses on providing in-depth analysis in support of consulting projects. Bo’s responsibilities include analysis and development of various analytical frameworks, methods and models.
Bo has a strong academic background in mechanical and industrial engineering. Prior to MAKE, Bo worked for Envision Energy, where he worked in R&D, turbine and wind farm solutions, and big data platform development. Bo works out of our office in Shanghai, China.
Peter Jorgensen holds a M.Sc. Mech. Eng. and has been employed in the Danish power supply industry for more than 25 years. Peter Jorgensen has been responsible for planning of the Danish electricity system as well as opening of the electricity market. Peter Jorgensen has represented Denmark in the international TSO organisations Nordel, ETSO and ENTSO-E with respect to system development and electricity markets. Peter Jorgensen’s current responsibilities include development of the international electricity infrastructure and electricity markets with focus on integration of renewable energy. Peter Jorgensen is also in charge of Energinet.dk's international consultancy services.
Ranjit has extensive experience in the energy, chemical, and water industries in a variety of management roles. He started his career at Suez Environment where he worked in a number of international leadership roles in the UK, France, Eastern Europe, and South East Asia. He then worked in strategy consulting for Booz & Company in their energy, chemicals, and utilities practice in London where he consulted for a variety of clients in Europe, the Middle East, and the USA. He joined the Carbon Trust in 2009 and led their high-profile Offshore Wind Accelerator programme. He joined Senvion in August 2011 and is currently the Head of UK Offshore Sales. Ranjit is based in London and has an MEng from Imperial College as well as an MBA from INSEAD
Jingwen is part of MAKE’s business development team in the APAC region. She also drives advisory projects and execution in China. Jingwen’s key focus is the Chinese wind industry supply chain, O&M dynamics and future scenarios, through which she provides clients with in-depth insights and advice.
Prior to joining MAKE, Jingwen worked as Sales Manager for the technical consulting company Windnordic A/S, where she kept close contact with turbine OEMs and blade suppliers regarding turbine and blade technology R&D, as well as design optimizations. Jingwen works out of our office in Shanghai, China.
Amit Kapur is a Partner with J. Sagar Associates since 2000. He serves on the Firm’s Executive Committee. He anchored the Firm’s Infrastructure practice since 1997 and presently chairs the Regulatory & Policy Practice (including Public Procurement and PPP). He has benefitted from an across the value-chain, holistic experience the industries he works with.
Over the past two decades, Amit has been associated with several precedent setting Infrastructure and PPP projects, like Delhi electricity privatization; Metro Rail projects in Mumbai & Delhi; the first 3 ultramega power projects (each involving over US$ 3.5 billion); and pilot projects for social / developmental Infrastructure. In the last decade, Amit has anchored and led complex litigation and regulatory proceedings before courts, tribunals and statutory authorities for various regulated infrastructure utilities in the public and private sectors. His work involves diverse legal, regulatory and policy issues, involving interplay of public finance, law, economics and technology.
He is regularly consulted on Infrastructure, Regulatory and PPP issues by several ministries / bodies of Central and State Governments; Developmental Financial Institutions (the World Bank, PPIAF, WSP-SA, ADB); Competition and Sector regulators and leading Indian and foreign Corporates (like the Tata Group, Adani Group, Reliance ADA Group, GVK Group, GMR Group, Vedanta Group, Larsen & Toubro, Torrent).
