Mr. Sabyasachi Majumdar holds a B.E degree in Electronics Engineering from the Delhi College of Engineering, Delhi University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow. Mr. Sabyasachi Majumdar has an aggregate work experience of almost 13 years out of which he has been associated with ICRA for a period of over 12 years.
Shruti is a Senior Policy Advisor at the Global Wind Energy Council. She joined GWEC at the end of 2010. She has over 10 years of experience working in the field of energy policy and climate change. At GWEC she is responsible for the organisation's market research and report writing and statistical analysis. She also is the team lead for the EU funded FOWIND project in India. She holds an MS in Environmental Policy and Regulation from the London School of Economics and a Masters in Business Economics from the University of Delhi.
Sumant Sinha is the Founder Chairman and CEO of ReNew Power, one of India’s largest clean energy companies. Started in 2011, ReNew Power has raised funding from Goldman Sachs, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, Asian Development Bank, and Global Environment Fund. Under Sumant’s leadership, ReNew Power has grown organically and has close to 3,000 MW of commissioned and under-construction clean energy assets.
Sumant is a passionate advocate for solutions to climate change through the intersection of business and public policy. He speaks extensively on global platforms and has authored more than 120 articles on subjects related to India’s economic scenario, entrepreneurship and issues related to climate change in leading publications such as The Economic Times, Business Standard, The Financial Express, Business Today, among others. He has been quoted in leading international dailies such as Financial Times, Bloomberg, and The Wall Street Journal.
Prior to ReNew Power, Sumant held top management positions at some of India’s largest conglomerates. He was the CFO at the Aditya Birla Group and the Founder CEO of Aditya Birla Retail and more recently the Chief Operating Officer of Suzlon Energy Ltd. Prior to this, he was an international investment banker, having worked in New York and London and raised funds for both Governments and large companies.
Currently, Sumant serves as the founder Chairman of the Indian Wind Energy Alliance (IWEA) and as Deputy Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) – Northern Region, CII Special Task Force on Solar Power. He is on the Advisory Board of Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA). He is also on the Board of the Raj Center of Indian Economic Policy at Columbia University. He holds a B. Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, an MBA from IIM Calcutta and a Master’s degree from SIPA, where he was a Dean’s fellow. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a National Talent Scholar.
Recently, Sumant was the recipient of the prestigious “Renewable Energy Leader of the Year 2015” award at the National Awards for Excellence in Renewable Energy in July 2015 and the “Excellence Award- 2015 in Renewable Energy Sector” by the Energy and Environment Foundation in August 2015.
V.Subramanian joined the Indian Administrative Service, premier service of the Government of India in 1971. Till his retirement in June 2008 as the Secretary to the Government in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, he occupied various important positions in the Government of West Bengal and the Government of India. His rich experience both at the implementation level and policy making level cuts across various sectors like Finance, Aviation, Energy, Labour etc. Mr. Subramanian was instrumental in the creation of the External Commercial Borrowings Division in the Ministry of Finance in the eighties and structured many innovative deals for Indian Public Sector Enterprises. He was also the Adviser to the Government of Mozambique for three years in 1990-1993. He was also the Secretary to the State Government in the Departments of Power and Labour. As Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser in the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism (2000-2005) he was closely involved in policy formulation on Aviation and Tourism. He was on the Boards of Air India, Indian Airlines, Airports Authority of India, Helicopters Corporation of India, Indian Tourism Development Corporation and a host of other PSEs. He was also the Member -Secretary of the High level Committee to recommend a roadmap for the growth of aviation in India. Most of the recommendations are being acted upon now. As Secretary in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, he undertook path breaking initiatives that resulted in more than doubling the grid connected renewable power generation capacity in less than three years. He pioneered the Solar Mission when he was in this position. Presently, he is the Chairman & Secretary General of the Indian Wind Energy Association, a position he has occupied since October, 2008. He was also the Business Development Adviser to the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research for a year, after his retirement. Besides being a freelance consultant, he has taken up independent directorships of a few public and private sector companies. He is based at Delhi presently. He is a well known speaker on “Renewable Energy” in various international conferences. He is also the key person in the formation of the new organization for policy advocacy in the area of renewable energy as a whole in India known as the “Indian Renewable Energy Federation”.
Tulsi Tanti is the Founder, Chairman and Managing Director of Suzlon Group, an Indian MNC and a prominent player in the global renewable energy sector. A visionary and a world renowned expert on clean energy, he is passionate about championing the cause of affordable and sustainable energy to tackle the paradigm of economic growth and climate change. He Conceptualized end-end solutions model creating realistic avenues for businesses and envisioned importance of R&D to optimize available wind resources & minimize LCoE. Suzlon has become global conglomerate under his able leadership and emerged as a prominent player in global renewable energy market.
He is credited with the establishment of the renewable market in India and has been conferred with numerous awards including ‘Champion of the Earth’ by the United Nations, 'Entrepreneur of the Year 2006 by Ernst & Young, 'Hero of the Environment' by TIME magazine. He is Member – Board of Management of TERI University and Co-Chair of Indo-Spain CEO Forum, also active member of various other CEO Forums, and member of prestigious global leadership forums like WEF, BRICS, CGI, CEM and COP.
Mr. Mathur is a Honours Graduate in Commerce from University of Delhi and has over 30 years of experience in managing industry associations. He started his career with the Confederation of Indian Industry in 1981. During his 14 years in CII he was in-charge of the Karnataka State Office and the Gujarat State Office. He was also the Director in-charge of a number of Industry Divisions in CII. He moved to ACMA as its Executive Director in 1994. Mr. Mathur has made key contributions in giving a global orientation to the work of ACMA. He has been actively involved in the Association’s work concerning exports, international trade policy, technology development, capacity building, focused projects for enhancing the competitiveness of the auto-component industry and in promoting global outsourcing opportunities for the Indian component industry. Mr. Mathur has also coordinated specialised developmental projects for the auto-component sector in co-operation with the International Trade Centre (ITC) and UNIDO and other national and international institutions.
Anil has had an extended entrepreneurial career during which he was involved in evolving start-up businesses in Information Technology, Infrastructure and Environmental sectors in the UK and India. Anil is experienced in M&A, transition and project management with a successful track record of managing operations involving large remote teams. He co-founded and developed Greenko with Mahesh Kolli in 2004 and incorporated it in early 2006 to raise funds for financing early operations. He is responsible for effectively implementing the strategic business road map of Greenko Group. Anil is a graduate in Computer Science and holds a Masters from North West University.
DR ARUNABHA GHOSH is a public policy professional, adviser, author, columnist, and institution builder. He is the founder-CEO of the Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW), consistently ranked (four years running) as one of South Asia's leading policy research institutions; and among the world’s 20 best climate think-tanks in 2016. With experience in 41 countries, he previously worked at Princeton, Oxford, UNDP (New York), and WTO (Geneva). Arunabha advises governments, industry, civil society and international organisations around the world. He is the co-author/editor of four books and dozens of research papers and reports. He is a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, appointed to WEF’s Global Future Council on Energy. He is an Asia Society Asia 21 Young Leader, and fellow of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
Dr Ghosh led CEEW into a leading think-tank soon after its founding in August 2010. He has been actively involved in the design of the International Solar Alliance since inception. He conceptualised and is a founding board member of the Clean Energy Access Network (CLEAN), an industry body for hundreds of decentralised energy entrepreneurs. He is board member of the International Centre for Trade & Sustainable Development, Geneva.
Dr Ghosh has advised India’s Prime Minister’s Office, several ministries, state governments and international organisations on a range of subjects. He was invited by the Government of France as a Personnalité d’Avenir to advise on the COP21 climate negotiations. He also advised on HFC negotiations under the Montreal Protocol. He is a member of Track II dialogues with seven countries; and formulated the Maharashtra-Guangdong Partnership on Sustainability. He serves on the Executive Committee of the India-U.S. PACEsetter Fund. He has presented to heads of state and legislatures across the world on varied topics including global governance, international relations and human development, climate, energy, natural resources and water, trade and intellectual property, development assistance, conflict and extremism.
Arunabha’s co-authored essay “Rethink India’s energy strategy” in Nature, the world’s most cited scientific journal, was selected as one of 2015’s ten most influential essays. Widely published, he is most recently co-author of Energizing India: Towards a Resilient and Equitable Energy System (SAGE, 2016); Human Development and Global Institutions: Evolution, impact, reform (Routledge, 2016); and Climate Change: A Risk Assessment (FCO, 2015). He is the co-editor of The Palgrave Handbook of the International Political Economy of Energy (2016). He has been a co-author of three UNDP Human Development Reports, including the pathbreaking Beyond Scarcity: Power, poverty and the global water crisis (2006). He writes a monthly column in the Business Standard, hosted a documentary on water in Africa, and featured in a National Geographic documentary on energy.
He holds a doctorate from the University of Oxford (Clarendon Scholar; Marvin Bower Scholar), an M.A. (First Class) in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (Balliol College, Oxford; Radhakrishnan Scholar); and topped Economics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi.
Morten Dyrholm was appointed as Chairman of GWEC in May 2016. The Global Wind Energy Council represents the major companies as well as the major wind energy associations (China, India, Japan, Brazil, Mexico, Australia, Canada, USA, Europe, France, Germany, Greece, Spain, Denmark, Italy, Korea, South Africa and Turkey) involved in the global wind industry.
Morten Dyrholm became Group Senior Vice President for Marketing, Communications and Public Affairs for Vestas in August 2016. Prior to that, he was Global Vice President for Vestas Wind Energy, where he led Marketing, External relations and Public Affairs. He has been with Vestas for the last ten years and is an expert in wind energy policy and regulation.
Dyrholm has extensive experience from the wind industry around the world, in particular from Asia, and has worked three years for Vestas in China where he was in charge of business development and governmental affairs. He holds a Master degree in Political Science and Chinese Politics.
At GWEC Morten Dyrholm is working to ensure that wind power takes its rightful place in the energy options for the future; and with opening up new markets for the industry in Latin America, Africa and Asia.
Dr. Pramod Deo, former Chairman of the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission was electricity regulator for over 11 years, a record in India. Dr. Deo has 33 years of experience in the energy sector. He has co-authored three books on energy planning, energy management and regulations for green energy.
Dr. Deo has worked with two international institutions namely the UNEP DTU Partnership on Energy, Climate and Sustainable Development (formerly URC), Denmark and Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok. He is a recipient of the World Wind Energy Association’s Award in the year 2005 for his outstanding achievement in the dissemination of wind energy.
Deepak Bagla has a professional career of over 28 years, starting with the World Bank in Washington DC before moving back to India to join the Corporate Projects team of RPG Enterprises. In 1989 he joined Citibank Global Corporate and Investment Banking team and for the next 18 years held several responsibilities across Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. In 2007 he joined 3i Private Equity to start an India dedicated fund for core infrastructure.
Mr Bagla is a special invitee to the Government of India’s, “High Level Committee on Financing Infrastructure” – (2011- 2013). He was a member of the Banking & Finance Committee of the Bureau of Indian Standards (ISO affiliate 2005-06) and was also a member of the committee established by the Government to recommend corporate governance norms for independent directors (2006). He was elected President of Delhi Management Association (2008-09)
Mr. Bagla is currently Managing Director & CEO of Invest India, the national investment promotion and facilitation agency for India. Invest India is a joint venture between DIPP (Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India), FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry), and State governments of India. The primary mandate of Invest India is to promote and facilitate investments into India and the agency has been supporting Government of India in the “Make in India” initiative.
Mr Bagla has a Bachelor’s degree with Honors in Economics from St Stephens College, New Delhi and a dual Masters in International Diplomacy and International Trade and Finance from The School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University, Washington DC.

Mr. Suresh KV’s career in the manufacturing sector began at Asian Paints Limited. He also has in his kitty an experience of 8 years with one of the largest Indian auto manufacturer-Bajaj Auto. Visteon India & Philips are among the other organizations that he has worked with prior to ZF. His journey with ZF, formerly known as Hansen Drives, began in 2007 when he joined the organization as the General Manager-Operations Centre. Through his consistent performance and contribution to the growth of ZF he was elevated to the role of Executive Director of ZF Wind Power Coimbatore Ltd in November 2010.
Born in London, U.K. and popularly known internationally as the “Green Maharaja”, Mr. Rakesh Bakshi, LFIMA, FIE, FNAE from a very young age recognized the great potential that alternative sources of energy offered and so committed all his energy and resources towards developing applications towards building a greener and cleaner planet.
Over the past 3 decades he has successfully promoted and implemented advanced climate friendly technologies past the demonstration phase, more particularly by converting Renewable Sources of Energy into Heat and Power.
Acknowledged as a Pioneer and Visionary in the field of Renewable Energy and having contributed extensively to harnessing and promoting Renewables for everyday energy needs, the Government Of India in recognition of his immense contribution in the crucial area of alternate sources of energy, honoured him in the year 1991 with the “Padma Shri,” one of India’s high civilian awards.
He has also received various National/International honours and awards for his pioneering work in the continuous and ongoing Promotion of Renewable Energy Technologies (RETs). He has persistently advocated the use of RETs in the context of abating Global Warming and mitigating adverse Climate Change.
The Pioneer and Visionary who brought the concept and meaning of the Term “Wind Power” to India in the mid 1980’s, has never looked back since.
Kameswara Rao is a Partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers and heads the GRID practice (Government Reforms and Infrastructure Development). Kami’s has over 24 years’ experience in power sector during which he was involved in a number of industry firsts, such as designing the first multi-year regulatory tariff regime; structuring India’s first cross-border private power transaction; and as subject expert for Africa’s largest renewable procurement program in South Africa.
Kameswara has advised several start-up companies and overseas sponsors develop their renewable energy portfolio, starting from business plans, acquiring early stage assets, structuring business models, contracting procurement, and in financing and partnerships. Kameswara worked on renewable energy projects in several countries besides India viz., Bhutan, Nepal, China, Kyrgyzstan, South Africa, etc.
Ramesh Kymal is the Chairman & Managing Director of Gamesa Wind Turbines Private Limited., a wholly owned subsidiary of the € 3 billon Gamesa Group, Spain. Gamesa is the leading supplier of wind power technology in the world and a driving force behind the development of the wind power industry.
Gamesa established its presence in India in the year 2009. Since then Mr. Kymal has piloted the company’s growth successfully by commissioning more than 1400 MW of wind power projects across the country. He has been instrumental in establishing a world class nacelle manufacturing facility at Mamandur, near Chennai, Tamilnadu , Blade manufacturing unit at Halol, Gujarat & a state of the art Integrated Service & monitoring center at Redhills, Chennai, Tamilnadu.
Prior to this Mr. Kymal spearheaded Vestas – the Danish Wind Technology company in India which eventually turned out to be one of the successful companies in Indian Market under his eminent leadership. Mr. Kymal is a Mechanical Engineer with specialization in Operations Research, Statistical Quality Control and has pursued higher management studies at INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France. He has over 25 years of experience in the renewable energy industry, casting his leadership traits across multi – national renewable energy corporations thus bringing out continuous growth in India’s renewable energy business.
Owing to his treasured experience, today he holds responsible and reputed positions in renewable energy associations in pursuit of promoting the sector by increasing business and investment opportunities. He is the founding circle member of the prestigious Brookings Institution in India. He is the Chairman of Renewable Energy Council of CII – Sohrabji Godrej Green Business Centre and he is on the advisory Board of Shakthi Sustainable Energy foundation to promote and make India as a world leader in renewable energy sector by facilitating the formulation of consistent renewable long term energy policies and innovative financing mechanisms. He is recipient of the Solar Society of India Award in 2005 for ‘Business Leadership in Wind Power’.
Apart from his strong commitment towards environment, he also brings out a persistent social commitment towards various philanthropic activities concentrated in the areas of education and social upliftment of girl children.
Ajay Mathur is Director General of TERI - The Energy & Resources Institute, and a member of the Prime Minister's Council on Climate Change.
He was Director General of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency in the Government of India from 2006 till February, 2016, and responsible for bringing energy efficiency into our homes, offices, and factories, through initiatives such as the star labelling programme for appliances, the Energy Conservation Building Code, and the Perform, Achieve and Trade programme for energy-intensive industries.
Dr. Mathur was earlier with TERI from 1986 to 2000, and then headed the Climate Change Team of World Bank in Washington DC. He was President of Suzlon Energy Limited, also headed the interim Secretariat of the Green Climate Fund.
He has been a key Indian climate-change negotiator, and was also the Indian spokesperson at the 2015 climate negotiations at Paris. He is a global leader on technological approaches to address climate change; recently, he joined the global group of industrial, financial and think-tank leaders to co-chair an Energy Transitions Commission which will suggest ways for companies and countries to move towards climate-friendly energy futures.
Ajit Pandit, one of the Founding Director of Idam Infrastructure Advisory Private Limited has more than 20 years of experience in dealing with varied aspects of energy and utilities sector in India. He brings with him the regulatory perspective and is well versed with risks and commercial arrangements associated with development, construction and implementation of various renewable energy generation schemes, transmission, evacuation, grid connectivity aspects and distribution schemes.
Ajit is recognized by the industry as expert on policy & regulatory matters concerning electricity industry and renewable energy sector in particular. He has assisted several Utilities, RE Developers and State Electricity Regulatory Commissions in addressing regulatory issues influencing growth of renewable energy sector in India and Bangladesh.
Ranjit is CEO of Ostro Energy. Ostro is a Renewable Energy company, backed by Actis PE, established in 2014 with the objective of constructing 1 GW of Renewable Energy projects by 2018. Ostro is well on its way to achieving its targets with over 650 MW of operating assets as of March 2017. Ranjit is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from IIT-Bombay and started his career with Schlumberger Oilfield Services in Japan. Schlumberger is the leading service provider in the Oil & Gas space present in almost every country where Oil is produced. Ranjit was also the founding CEO for Indiabulls Power business and also co-founded Orange Renewable, another leading Renewable Energy company in India.
Sudhir Nunes has been actively involved with energy innovation for over 19 years, and has developed a proven ability in energy technology procurement, sales, negotiation, management, operations and financing. He is knowledgeable in strategic planning, corporate finance, cost management, financial accounting and engineering, and has technology expertise and market intelligence in conventional and alternative energy sectors in Asia, Europe and America.
Sudhir currently serves as CEO Wind Business of Orange Renewable, a renewable energy independent power producer headquartered in New Delhi, India. He has overall responsibility for developing and building a profitable renewable IPP business with committed equity investment of $300 MM. Sudhir has led Orange Renewable’s wind platform growth from zero to 366MW operating, 200MW under execution and 600MW under development in 3.5 years. Along the way, Sudhir has recruited 140 professionals in project development, execution, O&M, engineering, procurement, legal, contracts and finance in a competitive job market to position Orange Renewable for sustained growth.
Previously at Gamesa, Sudhir managed the commercialization and industrialization of the largest on-shore wind turbine in North America, Gamesa’s G10X 4.5MW model. He led a multidisciplinary team of managers in development, sales, technology, manufacturing, logistics, construction and services. Prior to that role, Sudhir recruited and managed a team of 8 commercial managers responsible for managing service and warranty relationships with owners of 2,000 MW+ of wind turbines in North America, while driving after- sales revenue growth and supporting new unit sales activity. Sudhir’s team achieved $9 MM+ annual EBITDA contribution within 2 years, delivered service contract proposals valued at $900 MM+ in total revenue and negotiated $20 MM+ in product warranty claims and performance bonuses and penalties.
Prior to joining Gamesa, Sudhir managed investments at the Renewable Energy Trust, an economic development fund investing $25 MM annually into early and growth stage renewable energy companies on behalf of the State of Massachusetts. He was also responsible for business development, attracting clean energy companies to Massachusetts, and helping local companies establish partnerships around the world. Sudhir was a key contributor to policy guidelines incorporated in the Massachusetts Clean Energy Biofuels Act in 2008 that led to a #3 ranking among states in reducing oil dependence and leadership in the development of a regional Low Carbon Fuel Standard.
Before joining the Renewable Energy Trust, he founded Orca Energy SL, an award-winning startup in Spain focused on new energy storage technology. He also worked in business development for Intelligent Energy, a London-based fuel cell company, and designed commercial aircraft engines for General Electric.
Sudhir holds a bilingual MBA from IESE Business School in Barcelona, a Professional Engineering License, an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University. He served as a Board Director of the Asia America Chamber of Commerce and Founding Co-Chair of the Energy and Cleantech SIG at The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE). He enjoys scuba diving, squash, sketching and international travel. He currently resides in the Delhi-NCR area.
Steve Sawyer joined the Global Wind Energy Council as its first Secretary General in April 2007. The Global Wind Energy Council represents the major wind energy associations (China, India, Japan, Brazil, Mexico, Australia, Canada, USA, Europe, France, Germany, Greece, Spain, Denmark, Italy, Korea, South Africa and Turkey) as well as the major companies involved in the global wind industry.
Steve has worked in the energy and environment field since 1978, with a particular focus on climate change and renewable energy since 1988. He spent many years working for Greenpeace International, representing the organization at intergovernmental and industry fora primarily on energy and climate issues. At GWEC he is focussed on working with intergovernmental organisations such as the UNFCCC, IPCC, IRENA, IEA, IFC and ADB to ensure that wind power takes its rightful place in the energy options for the future; and with opening up new markets for the industry in Latin America, Africa and Asia.
Steve is also a founding member of both the REN21 Renewable Energy Policy Network and the IEA’s Renewable Industry Advisory Board. He advised the Chinese government on the formulation of its renewable energy legislation, as well as providing expert reviewing for the IPCC’s Working Group III. He grew up in rural New Hampshire and holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Haverford College, is married to Kelly Rigg, has two children Layla and Sam and has lived in Amsterdam since 1989.
Shri Soonee has first hand four decades of experience of Power System Operation of various Regional Grids of India and has worked extensively towards Integration of State Grids to form Regional Grids and subsequent integration of Regional Grids leading to the formation of the National Grid.
He specializes in Power System Operation, Planning, Commercial, Settlement, Restoration and entire gamut of Power Pooling and Governance. Other areas of interest include Electricity Markets, Open Access, Regulatory affairs besides expertise in Load Despatch Technology, integration of Renewable Energy including REC Mechanism, Transmission Pricing and development of Ancillary Services.
He is a Life Fellow of Institution of Engineers (India) , Fellow of IEEE , Distinguished Alumnus IIT Kharagpur, Distinguished Member CIGRE and Fellow of INAE.
He has represented India on the CIGRE Study Committee C2 on Power System Operation and currently represents India on the CIGRE Study Committee C5 on Electricity Markets and Regulation.
Mathias Steck (老马) is the Executive Vice President and Regional Manager Asia Pacific for Energy and Renewables Advisory; and member of the Executive Leadership Team of DNV GL – Energy. Based in Singapore, Mathias has 14 years of experience in the renewable energy industry. During this time, he has performed a wide range of tasks as an expert in charge of structural components of wind turbines including reviews, inspections, expert opinions, failure analysis, technical due diligence, guideline development and technical seminars.
Before the merger of DNV and Germanischer Lloyd in September 2013, Mathias was the Regional Manager of GL Garrad Hassan Asia Pacific. His position involved managing a team of more than 130 Inspectors and Engineers specializing in Energy located in offices in Singapore, China, Thailand, India, Australia, Korea and Japan.
Mathias has a German Diploma (equivalent to Masters Degree) in 'Civil Engineering and Environmental Technology' (2001) from the ‘Technical University Hamburg-Harburg’.
Mr Giri has been with the wind industry for more than two decades and he is currently the Secretary General for Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association.
In his career spanning well over 40 years, Mr Giri has been associated with very many diversified industries which include Steel, Fertilizer, Glassfiber and tyre/tyre cord.
The Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association (IWTMA) is the only industrial body representing the country’s wind turbine manufacturers and providing single point contact for policy makers at National and State levels, Regulatory Bodies and Utilities. IWTMA’s main objective is to promote wind energy in India, facilitate the extension of knowledge in the field and interacts with national and global wind energy bodies.
Mr Giri has been actively involved in strategic planning and growth of the wind power sector in India. He has been responsible for many initiatives in the wind power sector like Real Time Forecasting, promotion of Green Collar Jobs, creation of a pool of skilled manpower through collaboration with Universities and Colleges etc. He is also currently involved in promoting supply chain in India.
Mr Giri is also a member of the Governing Council and the R&D Council of Centre for Wind Energy Technology, an independent body working under the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy responsible for testing and certifying turbines, wind resource assessment, research and development activities.
Mr Giri has travelled extensively both in India and abroad and has interest in Religion and Philosophy.
Mr Giri holds Post Graduate Degree in Management and is from an illustrious family of lawyers, politicians, artists and thinkers.
Bo focuses on providing in-depth analysis in support of consulting projects. Bo’s responsibilities include analysis and development of various analytical frameworks, methods and models.
Bo has a strong academic background in mechanical and industrial engineering. Prior to MAKE, Bo worked for Envision Energy, where he worked in R&D, turbine and wind farm solutions, and big data platform development. Bo works out of our office in Shanghai, China.
Peter Jorgensen holds a M.Sc. Mech. Eng. and has been employed in the Danish power supply industry for more than 25 years. Peter Jorgensen has been responsible for planning of the Danish electricity system as well as opening of the electricity market. Peter Jorgensen has represented Denmark in the international TSO organisations Nordel, ETSO and ENTSO-E with respect to system development and electricity markets. Peter Jorgensen’s current responsibilities include development of the international electricity infrastructure and electricity markets with focus on integration of renewable energy. Peter Jorgensen is also in charge of Energinet.dk's international consultancy services.
Ranjit has extensive experience in the energy, chemical, and water industries in a variety of management roles. He started his career at Suez Environment where he worked in a number of international leadership roles in the UK, France, Eastern Europe, and South East Asia. He then worked in strategy consulting for Booz & Company in their energy, chemicals, and utilities practice in London where he consulted for a variety of clients in Europe, the Middle East, and the USA. He joined the Carbon Trust in 2009 and led their high-profile Offshore Wind Accelerator programme. He joined Senvion in August 2011 and is currently the Head of UK Offshore Sales. Ranjit is based in London and has an MEng from Imperial College as well as an MBA from INSEAD
Jingwen is part of MAKE’s business development team in the APAC region. She also drives advisory projects and execution in China. Jingwen’s key focus is the Chinese wind industry supply chain, O&M dynamics and future scenarios, through which she provides clients with in-depth insights and advice.
Prior to joining MAKE, Jingwen worked as Sales Manager for the technical consulting company Windnordic A/S, where she kept close contact with turbine OEMs and blade suppliers regarding turbine and blade technology R&D, as well as design optimizations. Jingwen works out of our office in Shanghai, China.
Amit Kapur is a Partner with J. Sagar Associates since 2000. He serves on the Firm’s Executive Committee. He anchored the Firm’s Infrastructure practice since 1997 and presently chairs the Regulatory & Policy Practice (including Public Procurement and PPP). He has benefitted from an across the value-chain, holistic experience the industries he works with.
Over the past two decades, Amit has been associated with several precedent setting Infrastructure and PPP projects, like Delhi electricity privatization; Metro Rail projects in Mumbai & Delhi; the first 3 ultramega power projects (each involving over US$ 3.5 billion); and pilot projects for social / developmental Infrastructure. In the last decade, Amit has anchored and led complex litigation and regulatory proceedings before courts, tribunals and statutory authorities for various regulated infrastructure utilities in the public and private sectors. His work involves diverse legal, regulatory and policy issues, involving interplay of public finance, law, economics and technology.
He is regularly consulted on Infrastructure, Regulatory and PPP issues by several ministries / bodies of Central and State Governments; Developmental Financial Institutions (the World Bank, PPIAF, WSP-SA, ADB); Competition and Sector regulators and leading Indian and foreign Corporates (like the Tata Group, Adani Group, Reliance ADA Group, GVK Group, GMR Group, Vedanta Group, Larsen & Toubro, Torrent).

He has structured and conducted capacity building programs for Competition Commission of India; Ministry of Finance (PPP); Electricity Regulatory Commissions in SAFIR.
For the past decade he has been a member of the National Infrastructure Council and Energy Committee of Confederation of Indian Industry. He serves on the Board of Advisors of NIIT Foundation, the Academic Council of University of Petroleum & Energy Studies (UPES) and the Governing Council of CUTS Institute for Regulation & Competition (CIRC).
Amit is a regular speaker / faculty at International & National Workshops and Programs on issues of Policy, Law, Regulation, Project Finance, reforms and private participation in Infrastructure and has published position papers and articles in established international and domestic journals.
